A close cut
A picture may paint a thousand words but looks can be deceiving
Last updated: 17th February 2010
Adam explained to the security guard about the cutting tape and putting the 'tache on people's faces, which led the confused guard to ask what that had to do with a football show. It's something we often ask ourselves!
The World Cup is still four months away but already the excitement is getting too much for one of Soccer AM's crew.
Reading through Tuesday's newspapers Rocket spotted that a huge football campsite - Tent City - is to be set-up just two hours from four stadiums including Rustenburg, costing as little as £27 a night.
Rocket was quick to relay the good news to the crew, although it's safe to say that is something he now regrets. Adamant that Simon was off the mark with his comment that it was just a camp site, Rocket proceeded to show the crew the newspaper article and the impressive picture that accompanied it.
What Rocket had failed to spot was that the photo was actually of the stadium in Rustenburg, something Rob was only too happy to clear up! "I thought it looked too good," declared Rocket amid howls of laughter!
A close cut
Adam was due in Scotland on Monday to film St Johnstone's Crossbar Challenge but didn't make it due to delayed flights and mechanical failures. However he did manage to cause a small panic at the airport.
Security took him to one side after discovering a pair of scissors in his hand luggage along with the 'Who Lalas' beard and 'tache tape. Adam explained to the security guard about the cutting tape and putting the 'tache on people's faces, which led the confused guard to ask what that had to do with a football show. It's something we often ask ourselves!
The scissors were actually a surprise to Adam, an extra 'present' from Bobbie who packed his props. "I was looking for those; I was wondering what I'd done with them," said Bobbie, before it was pointed out to him that he could get everyone sacked and locked up when they are taking to the skies!
Meanwhile up in Scotland the cameramen had to film the Crossbar Challenge on their own - should it turn out better than usual Adam's days could well be numbered!
Double success
Both Max and Tubes were pleased with how they fared playing football over the weekend. Max is through to the cup final while Tubes bagged a brace of goals, the second of which could be a contender for Showboat following a deft backheel by Dave through an opposition player's legs.
Dev is considering moving into another sport after impressing everyone with his ballet performance. He wasn't so happy when he was told that they might be at Pineapple Studios and with a film crew as part of a new show on Sky One!
Broody
Simon got a little bit broody during last Saturday's show and told Danny Dyer's wife that their daughter, Sunny "is so beautiful it makes me want to have kids". Everybody say ahh!
Chris has far more pressing issues on his mind however after discovering that his fiancé is a better dart player than him. Radical action is required. Anyone got the Power's mobile number?
See you all on Saturday!
