My injury woe

Missing two in a row would be devastating

My injury woe
I'm currently in negotiations with the bosses to see if I can wear my Cup Final suit and tie for the show. It's hot under the lights, so I might sweat a bit. We'll see.

Quotes of the week

I'm very nervous. I have a cup final on Saturday. And I'm injured. Not seriously injured. But I'm limping. At the time of writing, it's two o'clock on Monday afternoon. So I have exactly five days to declare myself fit.

This is the same Cup Final I missed last year, cos my friends Matt and Rachel were getting married. They're still married and now expecting - so that's a good thing. But I was gutted to miss the final. To miss two in two years would be devastating.

I think I should be fine. The injury happened early in the game on Saturday, and I managed to play the full 120 minutes (we had two hour long games, to make up for postponements for all that weather we had earlier in the year).

Basically some bloke (I think their right back) kicked me really really hard on the calf. And now there's a big old bump on it. And it's really hot for some reason.

I'm currently in negotiations with the bosses to see if I can wear my Cup Final suit and tie for the show. It's hot under the lights, so I might sweat a bit. We'll see.

My plan is now to buy a huge amount of cotton wool, wrap myself in it, and stay in my room until Saturday.

Brilliant

In other real football news, how brilliant is the Premier League this season? In the last few days I've seen lots of people predicting the last eight games or so and coming up with who's going to finish where. That's a fun, if completely pointless exercise.

I don't care who wins the league I don't think, although in a way it'd be good if Arsenal did just to freshen things up. I'd like Spurs to come fourth, so my Dad's happy. At the bottom, it's probably two from six unless Portsmouth do something ridiculous - I don't wish relegation on anyone. As a Cambridge fan I've never enjoyed it and I've witnessed it four times.

But what I really want is everything to be up in the air come the last day of the season. I want to be able to sit in front of a TV with nothing decided.

I want to clone Chris Kamara 10 times, so that he can be live at every game, getting very (almost over) excited whenever a goal goes in.

I want Martin Tyler to keep pointing out the league table "as it stands" in the corner of the screen, as Hull's goal takes them out of the bottom three.

And I want a goalkeeper to score from a corner in the fifth minute of injury time when there's "a minimum of four minutes added time"

And I want every England player to stay fit/get fit/remain fit until June.

And that is my perfect Premier League season.

And it could happen (well apart from the goalkeeper scoring bit, and Man Utd will have probably tied it all up the week before, and Spurs will have capitulated again, but it's worth hoping).

Have a good week,

Max

Max,,,Have you never seen a man with a bucket and sponge run onto the pitch, whenever a player(Not including Droghba)is injured,?....They are called Physio's....You can find them in the yellowpages too,..and if you give them some money, they can make your leg better, pretty quickly.!!
